Baytowne Big Band (20 piece jazz orchestra)

Description: Jazz orchestra featuring 5 trumpets, 5 trombones, 5 saxes and 4 full rhythm players with vocalists *  Repertoire includes everything from Big Band Swing Music, Latin, Pop, Rock, Blues and even a little bit of country. * We perform at jazz and music festivals across the entire Simcoe and Muskoka regions annually performing on our Summer Concert Tours. * We also perform for private functions.

Canadian Musicians Co-operative

Kempenfelt Community Players (Musical theatre performances)

Description:  With more than 70 shows, Kempenfelt Community Players (KCP) has, over its more than 45 years in the business, offered many varied and creative opportunities for members of the Barrie community to experience musical theatre from all sides of the stage. We offer opportunities for youth to perform in our Fall production, adult and young adults in our winter Full Company production, and a Studio Production in the spring with a smaller cast. We also offer workshops and seminars on auditions, dance, acting and singing. We work with many volunteers behind the scenes building sets, painting, sewing and assisting with stage management. There is something for everyone!

King Edward Choir – 40 mixed-voice concert choir

Description: We have a broad and engaging repertoire, from classical to contemporary, including Spirituals, folk, popular and show tunes. * We enjoy collaboration with other arts groups, and participating in community outreach. * KEC has a mentorship programme for students – no membership fees. * We rehearse Monday evenings in Barrie’s east end for our two yearly concerts, in December and May. * Interested singers are welcome to get in touch any time.

Description: Simcoe Contemporary Dancers is a not-for-profit professional dance company serving the region of Simcoe County that exists to encourage and showcase the development of local professional contemporary dance. Barrie Film Festival

Description: founded in 1995, and incorporated as a not-for-profit in 2006 * Presents national and international films while highlighting regional productions and Canadian stories. * Has year-round programming, which includes: 2 annual film festivals (a documentary-focused event in March; and multifaceted festival in October), an in-cinema film series, annual international Short Film Program, an outdoor summer movie series shown free in public spaces on an inflatable 25-foot screen, and the Central Ontario Youth Short Film Festival (COYSFF).
